My boys are really into swords, but unfortunately, sword fighting is not a great indoor activity… (Couldn’t they just color in coloring books sometimes??) We usually love Nerf, but the Nerf swords are a bit much for indoors and my boys’ ages. These fun noodles (or pool noodles – whatever you want to call them!) have somewhat solved our need-for-swords problem. We simply bought a fun noodle and cut it in two pieces. It’s fairly safe – no one has gotten hurt or broken anything yet, and we’ve had these 2 or 3 years!
They’re not very realistic, but they nice part is that the boys can pretend they are anything! Today, they were light sabers!

These are great particularly because they are flexible, and not dense. When we lived in CA our kids used them in our back yard in the pool as waterproof swords.
Ha!
Oh that is a good idea. We strung yarn through them and they became pretend bows.
