Happy New Year’s Eve!

2011 really seemed to fly by for our family!  Of course, I spent half the year expecting our fourth son, so that may have something to do with it!  Hopefully we will be seeing our new little guy’s face in the next week or so!

We spent most of January and February with sick kids, so we had to make the most of our time inside!  Gresham and I made this home for a pretend pet on one of our days at home.

For more active indoor play, check out our plastic fork catapults.

During the winter, we also did these static electricity experiments while the weather was cold and dry.

One of Aidan’s favorite activities from 2011 was taking photos of Legos – we posed them and got some hilarious shots!

In the spring, we made rain sticks that turned out really well.  These are still favorites around the house.

In May, Owen got off his reflux medication!  This was a huge milestone.  His reflux journey was fairly intense – he never spit up much, but started refusing to eat at about 6 weeks of age.  You can find all of our reflux posts on the sidebar if you want to catch up on our story!

My summer was spent mainly dealing with morning sickness, but we did manage to pull off this fun PVC pipe DIY sprinkler when Daddy was home to help!  In August, we entertained our boys and the neighbor boys with this diet soda and mentos fountain – you’ve got to watch the video if you’ve never done this!

In the fall, Gresham turned five and had his first birthday party – a puppy party with a pet show theme!  It was a lot of fun.

I hope that you and your family had a wonderful 2011!  A great way to capture the memories is to make a year-end “scrapbook” page with photos from the year.  We did this last year with leftover pictures that I had printed throughout the year, and it was a great way to think back on all that we did and learned during the year.
