This heart themed drawing project for kids is so simple and creative. It’s fun to see what each child comes up with!  Great for Valentine’s Day, or really anytime.

Hearts in Unusual Places - A Drawing Challenge for Kids!

The Challenge:  Draw a picture, and replace something with hearts!  The idea is not so much to decorate an item with hearts, but to replace an object with hearts.

For this challenge, I put out paper, pencils, glue, and tiny construction paper hearts.  I cut out all the hearts myself by folding a piece of red construction paper.  I didn’t draw them first – just cut.  At that size, it’s actually not too hard to get them to look nice!

This was such a fun project for all ages at our house!  Here’s what we came up with.

Owen drew Luke Skywalker with a heart-saber (of course)!

Gresham drew a heart-breathing dragon.

Aidan drew a jet (an F-22 Raptor, he says) with hearts as exhaust.

Here’s mine. 🙂  I did a rain shower of hearts.

It would be so fun to do this with a classroom full of kids – the finished drawings would make a fantastic bulletin board!
