Lego Fun Friday: Build the Most Durable Vehicle and a Lego Linky

It’s time for LEGO® Fun Friday!

Last week, I announced our challenge – to build the most durable vehicle and develop a way to test it. One way to test LEGO® vehicles is with a LEGO® demolition derby! (See last week’s post for details!)

Our younger boys were not quite coordinated enough for the LEGO® demolition derby, so we came up with another way to test LEGO® cars: rolling them down the railing of our stairs! The most durable vehicle was the one that could survive the crash with the fewest bricks knocked off.

This car looked fairly durable…

But alas! It ended up in pieces!

Aidan and I faced off against each other with these two cars. He built the tiny one, and I built the other one.

…And this is Aidan’s celebration face after his car beat Mom’s! (His lost 1 piece, and mine lost 2, so I’d say I did pretty well.)

We would love to see what your kids did with this week’s LEGO® challenge! Link up your blog post below, or stop by my Frugal Fun for Boys Facebook page on Friday or Saturday and share a photo of your kid’s creations! Contributions to the linky can also be any LEGO® post.

But first… Here is the next LEGO® challenge!

The next LEGO® Fun Friday will be Friday February 15th. The building challenge is to build a bridge out of LEGO®s! Challenge your kids to build a bridge that can support the weight of 100 pennies in a small cup. Then, challenge them to increase the span of their bridge, or to increase the amount of pennies that the bridge can hold. Come back on February 15th to see what we built and to link up your LEGO® post or share your LEGO® photos!
