Two weeks ago, the boys all went to the dentist and came home with their own pack of dental floss each. I would love to say that this has resulted in fabulous oral hygiene, but in reality, all that dental floss has been turned into zip lines for LEGO® guys!

Make a Lego zipline! It all started with this massively big LEGO® set-up… (There’s a little of everything in there – Toy Story, Star Wars, City, The Lone Ranger)

Make a Lego Zip Line! Then Aidan discovered that he could tie some dental floss onto a LEGO® brick to make a zip line. He attached the other end to the top of his bunk bed ladder.

Make a Lego Zip Line! In order for the minifigures to stay on the zip line, they need to be holding a gun or something else that can go across both hands.

Make a Lego Zip Line! The minifigures went so fast down the zip line that I couldn’t get a picture of them! Aidan has been having fun making zip lines of different lengths and different slopes.

And now… A new LEGO® building challenge!

If you’re new to Frugal Fun for Boys, we have a twice-a-month feature called LEGO® Fun Friday. Each time, we feature a LEGO® building challenge. We announce the challenge ahead of time, and then you can link up a blog post with photos of what your kids built, or any LEGO® blog post. If you don’t have a blog or don’t blog about LEGO®’s, feel free to share photos on the Frugal Fun for Boys facebook page.

**Note: I’ve received complaints that LEGO® Fun Friday is only for boys. It’s not!! The name of my blog is Frugal Fun for Boys because I have four boys and write from a boy mom perspective, but the LEGO® challenge is open to anyone. If you have girls that want to participate, please feel free to share photos!

The challenge for this coming Friday (June 28th) is to build something with a summer theme! Maybe a LEGO® pool with LEGO® swimmers? Maybe a LEGO® camping scene? Lots of possibilities here!

My Lego loving son would love this! Although, we currently only have one pseudo mini figure (the Duplo zoo keeper).

What a great idea. And I have 3 girls and we do your challenges. We'll have to see what they think of their Lego Friends zip-lining. Sadly, we too have a HUGE stash of floss from so many dentist visits and grandma putting some in EVERY stocking EVERY year.
