It’s time for LEGO® Fun Friday!
If you’re new to Frugal Fun for Boys, LEGO® Fun Friday is a twice-a-month LEGO® building challenge. Your kids can participate by linking up a blog post on this page, or you can share photos of their creations on the Frugal Fun for Boys Facebook page. This week’s building challenge was to build a Christmas ornament out of LEGO® bricks. We have a few fun ideas to share with you!
Aidan made this candy cane:
And he also designed this ornament with Baby Jesus in the manger. For the baby, he used an Anakin Skywalker head (I know, Anakin being Baby Jesus!) and a 1×1 brick. It turned out really adorable!
We also made ornaments out of clear plastic ball ornaments. I got the ornaments at Hobby Lobby for 50 cents each (99 cents and 50% off) and then we filled them with red, green, and white bricks from our collection. With the size balls we bought, 2 x 1 bricks are the best. 3 x 1 will work. But 4 x 1 are very difficult to get back out if you need to get them back out!
Who knew LEGO®’s in an ornament could look so pretty on the tree?
We saw some neat fill-able plastic ball ornaments at the Legoland Discovery Center for $3 each in the shop, and they have a 4 dot base for attaching bricks in the center. They would be fun for putting a minifigure inside, or maybe a small Christmas tree. Lots of possibilities! On Amazon, the same ornaments are $9.49, so I would recommend getting them at Legoland if you live close to one!
Now it’s your turn! Link up a LEGO® post (can be about the building challenge, or about any LEGO® activity for kids) or share photos of your kids’ LEGO® creations on the Frugal Fun for Boys Facebook page. We can’t wait to see what your kids built!
There will not be a LEGO® Fun Friday in two weeks – we’ll take that week off for the Christmas holiday, but we’ll be back with a new challenge in January!
