These wooden peg ninjas were such a fun craft to make!  I’ve been on a crafting kick lately since I’ve been forced to slow down and do more sitting.  I had some wooden pegs left over from our nativity set, and I decided to make them into ninjas for the boys.

I’m sure that older kids could totally paint these on their own, but mine weren’t interested so it was my project.  You can find wooden peg people in the wood crafts section of Hobby Lobby or Michael’s.  I used acrylic paint and then sprayed each one with a coat of Rust-oleum matte finish clear coat for durability.  It was fun making each of the ninjas different!

These would make a super gift!  (And they’re quite inexpensive as well!)

 Play Ideas:

  • Ninjas and wooden blocks.  The boys added a dragon pit to the ninjas’ castle and built a Lego dragon to go in it.

  •  Ninja hide and seek.  The ninjas are perfect for playing a hiding game – after all, a good ninja is good at not being seen!  This is a great game for preschoolers.

  • Ninja Outdoor Special Ops.  The ninjas are fun to play with outside, and I think they would also be fun to bring along to an appointment or another errand involving waiting.

  • Ninja Math Helpers.  Adding doesn’t feel like work when the ninjas are helping! (As objects to count)
