Plastic cups make awesome Nerf targets, and when the cups are swinging, they’re even more fun!

Swinging Nerf Targets

We have LOTS of random PVC pipe pieces in our house and garage from all of our many PVC projects, so Aidan built a couple of frames to hang the plastic cups from.  Here’s the basic design:

Swinging Nerf Targets

We taped string to the tops of the cups with packing tape, and it has been holding up pretty well.  We added point values to the cups. The boys call out their shots (Oooh!  I got a 50!) but no one really keeps score.

This game was my idea, but I wasn’t sure if the boys would like it.  Well, it has turned out to be their favorite Nerf target out of all the ones we’ve made!  They have been playing with it all week.

Swinging Nerf Targets

Over the course of the week, it grew from one small setup into this:

Swinging Nerf Targets

That’s a card table stacked on top of our Lego table, in case you’re wondering!  They have a combination of swinging cups and stacked cups. SO much fun.

Here's how I made the frame.

      Materials:
One 10 foot section of ¾" pvc pipe
      Two 90 degree pvc elbows
      Two pvc "T" connectors

Cut four 9" pieces from the pipe for the legs.
Cut two 22" pieces from the pipe for the sides.
Use the remaining piece for the top (cut to size). I made the top 26".
