Got plastic Easter eggs? Here’s a fun idea for a homemade toy! The boys and I enjoyed transforming some of our plastic eggs into wobbling ninjas that fall down and pop back up again.
Here’s what you need to make them:
- Plastic eggs
- Modeling clay (non-hardening)
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
- Googly eyes – for attaching the eyes
- Duct tape – we used yellow and black
The secret to the wobbling is the modeling clay. Put a blob in the bottom of each egg. You may have to squish it around a little to get the egg to balance well.
First we made some plain ninjas.
But then we decided that they needed swords and belts. Aidan made the swords by cutting the point off of a toothpick and coloring it black with a Sharpie marker.
We attached the swords by wrapping the duct tape belt around them, as shown below.
SO much fun! They just make us smile.

These are so cute! (even with their scowly faces ;) We just bought a bunch of plastic Easter eggs and I think we have all of the other supplies so my brothers are going to have a blast making these!

Wow! I love these, and we have a bunch of easter eggs lying around (we don't even use them for Easter!), so we're definitely making these!
