Here is a fun Star Wars craft for kids that you probably have all the materials for. Make an X-Wing Starfighter out of office supplies!
Aidan and I saw this idea on Instructables and thought it was so fun! We added duct tape to make ours look more like the real X-Wing.
To make one, you will need:
- A wide Sharpie marker
- Binder clips – large and small
- Paper Fasteners – 1.5 inch
- Pen caps (4)
- Duct tape – white and red
- Cardboard – just a small piece
- Clear mailing tape
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
Step 1:
Cover the Sharpie with white duct tape. Leave the clip uncovered on the cap – this will be used to attach the wings.
Step 2: Build the wings. Take the clips off the binder clip bases. Swap them out – put the large clips on the small bases (red, in our case).
Clip the binder clips onto a small piece of cardboard. Slide the cardboard under the clip on the Sharpie marker.
Add a paper fastener to each wing. Wrap a small piece of clear tape around each paper fastener to hold them on.
Glue on the pen caps. We used hot glue for ours.
Step 3: Add more duct tape details. We wrapped a small piece of white duct tape around each wing and then added red stripes.
One of the large binder clip bases made the perfect stand.
