If you’re looking for things to do with kids over the Christmas break, you’ve found the right place! While everyone at our house was ready for a break from school, the extra free time is not always a good thing, especially when it’s compounded with loads of excitement, extra sugar, and a disrupted routine. Here are some fun and simple ideas that will help keep the kids busy this holiday and make it an enjoyable time for everyone!
Jingle Bell Magnetic LEGO Mazes
Use LEGO bricks to create a maze on a base plate. Then use a magnet wand to direct a jingle bell through the maze – or see if someone else can solve your maze. Just designing will keep kids happily busy for quite a while.
We couldn’t find our magnet want, so we duct taped a strong magnet to a couple of craft sticks.
Use the magnet wand to move the jingle bell through the maze!
Levitating Jingle Bells
This one is super fun too. Tie a piece of string to several jingle bells. Then tape each piece of string to a cardboard box. Use your magnet wand to make the jingle bells move!
An older kid with a steady hand will be able to make the bells levitate. It’s pretty cool! Our jingle bells would also start to spin – I’m not sure what makes them do that but it was fun to watch!
