Easter is coming soon on April 9, 2023! It feels early this year, although I know it isn’t. Maybe it’s because it was later last year.

If you’re looking for Easter basket ideas for kids, we’ve got some fun ideas!

To start, I should explain that I am a huge fan of keeping Easter baskets simple. We have never wanted the main focus to be on gifts, but on Christ and His resurrection. However, it’s certainly fun to have some treats too! Just don’t hear me saying that Easter needs to be yet another commercial holiday. You decide how you want to celebrate.

Here are some ideas for how to approach the Easter basket.

Some families give Easter baskets on Saturday so that the focus of Sunday is on church.

Another fun approach is to use the Easter baskets as a time to give items that will be used during the warm weather season. Some good gift ideas would be sunglasses, an umbrella, a bug catcher kit, flip flops, a beach towel, etc.

Or, make it a learning themed Easter basket. This is the time of year where we are all feeling burnt out on learning! Fill the basket with a couple books on topics your kids enjoy. Rocks and fossils, ocean animals, how to crochet, a favorite historical figure, etc.

Now on to the Easter Basket stuffer ideas!

20 Ways to Draw Everything (Nature) is one of our FAVORITE drawing books. There are 135 different nature themes, and then 20 ways to draw each theme. So 20 flowers, 20 cats, 20 penguins, etc. This is doodle style drawing rather than purely realistic drawing. But it’s awesome!

The Psalms in Color is a fabulous and inspirational adult coloring book for older kids and teens.

This may not fit in a basket, but here are 100 Crayola Colored Pencils (100 colors!!) on a special deal for $11.94. What a bargain!

Learn to sew! The Klutz Sew Mini Animals book is awesome. It comes with everything you need to make and stuff 12 animals. I bought this for my 8 year old for Christmas. The animals are super adorable, and the instructions are easy to follow. At 8, she has needed a little help, but kids age 10+ should be able to do this on their own. Teens will enjoy this too! And middle-aged moms too!

Boys may find a Kendama more their speed! Learn cool tricks with this fun skill toy. My sons have used YouTube to learn more tricks.

Learn how to fold cool paper airplanes with this fun book – Ultimate Paper Airplanes for Kids. It comes with 12 designs, and 48 tear-out planes to make.
