Print this Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt – the kids can check things off while you drive around looking at lights!

Looking at Christmas lights is one of my favorite parts of the holiday season, and my kids love it too.

Last year, some friends of ours did a Christmas light scavenger hunt and said that it really made Christmas light viewing more fun for everyone.  I thought that the boys would like this, and it was easy to make a list of things they might find while looking at Christmas lights.  Then I thought, why not share it as a printable so that you can easily do this with your family?

Make it a fun family evening!

Pack up popcorn and Christmas cookies for the car, and maybe even hot chocolate in spill-proof cups.  If you have clip boards, that will make it easier for the kids to check things off as you drive around.

HINT: If you don’t have clipboards, you can easily make one by attaching the paper to a piece of cardboard with a clothespin. Easy peasy!

There are lots of things to look for, but they shouldn’t be terribly hard to find no matter where you live.

Click below to print the scavenger hunt. When you click on the link, the PDF file will open, and you can print it from there.

This looks like fun!!! Do you by any chance have one with pictures instead of words? My boys are only 4 and 2....can't read yet...

    Thanks

I don't have one with pictures, and unfortunately don't have time to make one this year. Maybe just read the items out loud? That's what we'll be doing for our 4 year old. We haven't been able to go look at lights yet - we had a major ice storm last weekend, and many people don't have lights up to look at! Hopefully soon.

Sarah, this looks like lots of fun - we're going tonight! We live in Kansas, but I'm from west Texas, and we were stuck in that same ice storm while visiting my parents. Delayed us coming back to Kansas for several days, so we're behind in our fun Christmas activities. I'm thankful you shared such an easy one that will be a huge hit with my boys!

We just did this a few nights ago. I thought I "invented" it! Ha! We did cookies in the car with Christmas music. My girls got a "prize" at the end - light up necklaces! They Loved it and want to do it every year!
