Emoji Keychains! Here’s a fun craft that kids of all ages will enjoy! Use Perler beads to make these fun keychains, and then use them for your keys or attach them to a backpack.
Gresham, Owen, and I had such a great time with this project! If you’re not familiar with Perler beads, they are small plastic beads that you use to build a design on a peg board. Then you iron them to fuse the beads together. The beads come with special paper to put over the beads when you iron them, so it won’t hurt your iron at all.
After we finished our emojis, we used a nail to make one of the existing holes slightly larger. Then we put keychains through the holes.
The laughing crying face might be my favorite.
And this one is my second favorite. Or maybe it’s the other way around. I can’t decide!
Supplies Needed:
- Perler Beads – This link is for a big tub of mixed colors. Depending on how many keychains you are making, you might want an extra bag of yellow beads.
- Peg Boards
- Key Chains
- An Iron
- A nail – for making the key chain hole.
Unfortunately, I don’t know how to make these designs into a grid that you can print. But hopefully your kids can build the designs from these photos!
