I don’t know about your house, but the energy level is already pretty high around here! With over two weeks to go until Christmas, we have been looking for ways to stay busy without playing football in the house, bickering, or breaking something. Here are two fun Nerf games that have been keeping the boys busy in a somewhat constructive way!
Game #1: Ring the Bells
For this game, I drew a simple Christmas tree on a large piece of cardboard. Owen and Jonathan helped me color it in. I cut out circles with an X-Acto knife (adult job!) and then hung jingle bells in front of each opening.
Aidan helped me tie groups of three jingle bells with string and then tape them to the back of the board.
The boys have been having fun trying to ring the bells by hitting them with a Nerf dart! It’s harder than it looks! But if you get up really close you can ring them easily.
Game #2: Jingle Bell CRASH!
This game is guaranteed to keep kids busy for a LONG time! We stacked plastic cups and jingle bells and then knocked them over with Nerf darts. It makes a satisfying crash and jingle!
As they played, the towers got bigger…
And even bigger…
And even though it’s a little crazy, at least it’s a controlled sort of crazy?
Be sure to stop by our Christmas LEGO projects for a calmer holiday activity.
How are you surviving the countdown until Christmas?
