Make some Easter eggs into LEGO® minifigures! Like our Resurrection eggs and Star Wars eggs, we used wooden eggs for this craft project. I really enjoy getting out our egg collection each year, so I wanted these to last.

You could definitely use real eggs, though! Blown eggs might be good for this project. We used acrylic paint – I’m not sure if it would be safe to eat hard boiled eggs if you paint them with acrylic paint, so you’ll need to look into that before going that route.

LEGO Minifigure Decorated Easter Eggs

Unlike the Star Wars eggs which are a little complicated for kids, these LEGO® eggs are definitely a project that kids can enjoy! You may have to do the face part for younger kids, but they can paint the egg solid yellow for sure.

The eggs are fun to play with too! Jonathan lined them all up so that they each had a person to talk to. So cute.

Ready to make some LEGO® Eggs?

You’ll need eggs – we used 2.5 inch wooden eggs, acrylic paint, a pencil, a black Sharpie marker, and some LEGO® minifigures.

Step 1: Paint your eggs yellow.

Step 2: Choose some minifigures with faces that you want to make.

So far, pretty easy!

Step 3: Sketch the face and hair with a pencil.

Step 4: Paint the hair. If the minifigure has an open mouth, then paint the mouth with white.

Step 5: Draw over the eyes and mouth with a Sharpie marker. Use white paint to make a tiny dot on each eye.

Here are the eggs we decorated. Gresham (10) and Owen (7) made these:

And I made the rest.

The “oh no!” guy is our favorite! The ninja one would be a good choice for younger kids – easy to paint.

They look adorable in their basket! We found the basket at Hobby Lobby in the basket section, not the Easter section.

If painting is not your thing, here’s a fun way to make LEGO® eggs with plastic eggs from Adventure-in-a-Box! I love the fact that their LEGO® faces can be mixed and matched!

If your kids like LEGO®, you’ll want to check out this LEGO® Easter Egg Decorating Machine! Build a contraption that spins real eggs so you can decorate them with Sharpies. SUPER fun!

More Easter ideas:

Build a LEGO® Resurrection Garden – this makes a beautiful centerpiece!

Star Wars Easter eggs – each character is an egg! (Well, not ALL the characters… since there are like 53648292645274 of them!)
