It’s LEGO® Fun Friday!!
LEGO® Fun Friday takes place on the first and third Fridays of the month. It’s a blog hop for kid-generated LEGO® ideas, and LEGO® learning activities are also welcome!
Aidan (age 9) absolutely loved the summer Olympics. It was so fun experiencing it with him because this was the first year that he was old enough to remember the athletes’ names and really follow the events. He watched swimming, gymnastics, and track and field, and stayed up WAY too late every night!
Before the games were over, Aidan started building his own Olympic gymnastics scene. Here are the pommel horse and trampoline:
And the high bar and vault:
Aidan didn’t have any athlete-looking minifigures, so it sort of turned out to look like the redneck Olympics! His lack of minifigures wasn’t for lack of asking, however. We saw a set of London Olympics minifigures on Amazon for $59.95. Unfortunately, that was out of Aidan’s price range, and he was unsuccessful in convincing Mom to give him the money!
LEGO® Video Fun!
For more Olympic LEGO® enjoyment, check out these videos from Brick by Brick! They are amazing animation of Olympic events, and the announcers cracked us up! We had fun spotting storm troopers, etc. in the audience! Disclaimer: Watch out for ads – you should be able to skip them after the first few seconds.
Now it’s your turn! Link up your LEGO® design ideas or your LEGO® activity posts!

Thanks for this link up! I can't wait to show my son your Olympic Lego set up when he gets home from school! He will love it!

What cute ideas! Two of my boys love Legos, and I must admit that I love them too (except when it's time to vacuum). While I won't have photos or blogs about Lego creating to share, I will need to check out Lego Fun Fridays with my kids.

I love these Lego ideas- and it's a great idea to have a Lego themed link up!
