Here are some fun Pokemon LEGO® projects that kids will love building!
Build a Pikachu, Squirtle, and pokeball. We found that looking an examples of pixel art makes it much easier to build characters like this. They are pretty challenging to build in 3D form, but the pixel art versions worked very well. If your kids don’t find their favorite character in this post (which is likely, since there are hundreds of them!) try searching google images for Pokemon pixel art.
Confession: We know almost nothing about Pokemon! But we have had request for Pokemon projects, and the characters are cool looking, so we decided to go for it. It’s not that I have a problem with Pokemon – the kids just haven’t been interested in it, and I figure we don’t need anything else to be obsessed over anyway!
Pikachu
Aidan and I combined a couple of different pixel art designs to build this character, and we thought he turned out pretty cute!
Here are a couple of close-up shots so that you can see which bricks we used.
Our Pikachu has a front and a back, so you can only face him one way. In order to stretch our yellow bricks far enough, we used slopes and bricks with faces on it, etc.!
Squirtle
We picked Squirtle to build because we thought he was cute, and we had the right colors. We really wanted to make Charizard and Charmander, but Charizard was too challenging and we didn’t have enough orange for Charmander. If your kids design one, post a photo on our Facebook page!
Here are some close-ups of Squirtle:
Pokeball
This is a great project for younger kids!
