Here’s a fun spring activity for kids! This printable doodle book is kind of a combination of coloring and drawing. It’s designed to encourage kids to practice fine motor skills by making it fun to draw small things, like legs on a caterpillar or rain drops to water the garden. I made this (and my Christmas version) with my 6 year old in mind, but my 3 and 8 year olds also enjoy them just as much. Today Jonathan (6) told me, “Mom, these books are so good. They keep me busy!”

The book will print on 3 sheets of paper (it’s designed to print two-sided). Just fold the pages over and staple!

Here’s what you’ll find inside!

Draw flowers on the stems. Then draw babies hatching from the eggs. They don’t have to just be baby birds! My boys had fun drawing baby snakes, and if it was my 11 year old doing this, he would definitely draw a dragon in one of the eggs.

Color the rainbow, then draw gold coins in the pot of gold. Draw leaves on the trees, and add animals like birds or squirrels or rabbits.

Draw patterns on the snakes, and decorate the butterflies. (I knew my boys would be happy that I put snakes in there! As for me, I’d rather just stick with the butterflies… 🙂 )

Fill the basket with treats or colored eggs. Then decorate the Easter eggs.

Then finally, my favorite page!

Draw legs and antennas on the caterpillars. Then draw ladybugs on the leaves. Fill the garden with plants and draw raindrops to water the garden!

Printing Note: This is designed to be printed as a two-sided document. In the file, some of the pages are upside down, and this is on purpose. It will all turn out okay! To make the book, lay the cover page down, face down. On top of this, add the page with pages 2 and 7, face up. Then add the page with pages 4 and 5, face up. Fold all three pages over and staple.

Thanks for the Spring doodle book....Easter at our house (grandparents) with 5 kids and cold rainy weather predicted......after an inside egg hunt this will keep the younger ones busy while we prepare Easter dinner.
Your ideas and pages are so helpful to this grandmother of 5...
