Last year, we used file folders to make turkey targets for Nerf guns that pop back up after you shoot them. Today I realized why. It was our first day of Thanksgiving break, and the boys were WILD. After asking them to put the cushions back on the couch for the 3rd or 4th time, I rolled out this game…
This game is simple to set up and will hopefully keep your kids busy for a while! Print out some turkeys. I used a cute picture of a turkey running that I found here. I reduced the size on our copier.
Then have the kids color the turkeys. Tape them to plastic cups, and you’re ready for action! We used some tray tables and set up a shooting gallery.
The bigger the stack, the more satisfying the crash…
And it’s fun to play either with dart guns or ball guns!
More play ideas for the holiday week:
- Paper bag turkey puppets – the post includes a tip for standing them up to use as a Thanksgiving table decoration
- Make your own plastic out of milk and vinegar – this is simple and impressive!
- Make a duct tape wallet – these would make great gifts! Good project for ages 8+, age 10 is even better.
