Are you looking for ways to encourage gratitude and thankfulness this Thanksgiving? Here’s a printable journal that will help you do just that! I was trying to decide what to do with my own kids this year, and I decided to adapt my family gratitude devotions into a journal that would be perfect for elementary aged kids. Honestly, it’s great not just for kids, but for families to do together!

This journal is designed to get kids reading the Bible themselves, and then writing and drawing their own thoughts. There are 7 journal entries to complete. Do this over the week leading up to Thanksgiving, or finish it all over the Thanksgiving weekend. None of the journal entries will take more than 15 minutes or so to complete.

Here’s a sample of one of the pages:

My goals with this journal are to encourage kids to be grateful to God (rather than just generic thankfulness) and to thank Him for more than just material things. It’s wonderful that God provides for our physical needs, but even if we don’t have good health or plenty of money, we can give thanks because God provides for our most important needs! He has met our need for forgiveness and salvation, He hears and answers our prayers, He has given us His word, and He provides other believers who teach us and encourage us.
