Well, a few weeks ago we made some toilet paper roll chickens, and with Easter coming up, we had to get the toilet paper rolls out again and make some chicks to go with them! I love how these turned out. Super cute.

This chick craft is perfect for Easter or anytime you’re doing a farm unit.

Aren’t they the sweetest? They don’t take very much time to make, and the supply list is flexible depending on what you have on hand.

Supplies Needed for Toilet Paper Roll Chicks:

  • Toilet paper rolls – one roll makes two chicks
  • Yellow paint – we used acrylic
  • Yellow craft foam
  • Orange pipe cleaners – 1 per chick
  • Orange felt
  • Googly eyes
  • Hot glue gun or craft glue

Easy Supply Substitutions:

If you don’t have felt for the beak, you can substitute orange construction paper or a small piece of cardboard painted orange.

Yellow construction paper or yellow felt can be substituted for the craft foam.

Another option is to use craft feathers instead of the craft foam! The picture of the three chicks above has one with craft feathers.

How to Make Toilet Paper Roll Chicks:

Step 1: Cut your toilet paper rolls in half, or in whatever size you’d like. Then paint them yellow.

Step 2: Cut out wings, a comb, and a beak.

Step 3: Cut a pipe cleaner in half. Fold each half into a little chick foot! You may need to trim off the excess.

Step 4: Glue all of the body parts to your chick’s body! Easy!

Then head over to our Toilet Paper Roll Chickens craft! Soooo cute.
