We got this recipe for homemade silly putty from Quirky Momma.  What a great idea!  This stuff is stretchy, squishy fun that leaves no residue behind.

Here’s how to make it:

Dissolve 1/2 teaspoon borax in 1/4 cup warm water.

Mix together:

borax/water mixture

1/4 cup cornstarch

2-3 oz. school glue (We had a 4 0z. bottle with about half left, and we dumped it all in)

Food coloring

At first, it’s a gooey mess, but keep working, and it will form a putty consistency.  We forgot to add the food coloring, so ours is just white.

We made tracks with construction vehicles and footprints with plastic animals.  Then Aidan made a snowman with toothpick arms.  This stuff also bounces!

To save your goop, dip it in water and then place it in an airtight container.
