Here’s another simple backyard carnival gameSpider Launch! Launch little plastic spiders with a simple homemade catapult. A cardboard box makes a great target, and we decorated ours with duct tape to make it a spider web. There are very few crafts that can’t be improved with duct tape! 😉

Backyard Carnival Games: Spider Launch

The catapult is made out of craft sticks and rubber bands. We used Rainbow Loom bands since we have a million of those left from last year’s craze!

The spiders are spider rings (from Michael’s), and we cut off the ring part. You could launch them as rings with no problem, though.

We glued a plastic juice cap to the catapult to hold the spiders.

Then fire away! You can adjust how far away the web is to make the game more or less difficult, depending on the age of the child.

If you need this game to have a clear “winner” or “loser” you can have a goal – get 5 spiders in the box, for example. Or just let them shoot and then collect a prize!

if you have time could you please explain the catapult? is it just "tied" together with the looms - two horizontally sandwiched between the ones with the cup? or is it more than that? Thanks!!
