Here’s a fun Christmas LEGO project! Use your green and translucent bricks to make a lovely and festive Christmas tree lantern. Grab a battery powered tea light to make it glow!

Last year I built a LEGO stained glass Christmas tree ornament, and I decided to make a larger version this year that is lit with a tea light.

This project is super simple and open-ended. I’ll show you some quick instructions, but kids can really build this however they want with the bricks they have.

I started with four 2 x 4 brown bricks to make a nice thick trunk for the tree.

Then I used green plates to make a base for the tree.

I had a green 4 x 8 half circle plate, so that made a nice shelf for the tea light to sit on.

I attached the green plates to the trunk and then added two 2 x 4 green bricks and two 2 x 2 green slopes.

Then for my next row, I used translucent bricks. I put 1 x 1 green bricks in between the 1 x 2 translucent bricks.

I used green plates in between the rows of translucent bricks.

So simple and fun! If you don’t have enough green 2 x 2 slope bricks, you can always order from BrickLink. That’s my favorite place to get individual LEGO bricks

So festive!

Battery powered tea lights are so fun to use in LEGO projects!
