Here’s a fun and engaging LEGO math activity that you can set up in 5 minutes or less! Print this free LEGO math investigation page and then just grab some LEGO bricks.
Recommended Age: 2nd and 3rd grade, or ages 7-8.
This may also be a great activity for gifted 1st graders.
I designed this LEGO Math Investigation for:
- An opening activity for a math class
- An independent math station for a classroom or library
- An activity for a LEGO club or STEM club
- Etc!
Please do not distribute this page through email or by posting the document online, but you may print however many copies you need for your students or program. You may also email this document to your own students.
There are 8 different activities to complete on this page. Each one just requires basic bricks. I would recommend using 2 x 2 or 2 x 4 bricks, but it really doesn’t matter that much.
In addition to bricks, kids will need a ruler that measures in centimeters.
This page introduces grouping, which is a great lead-in to multiplication.
The money question is my favorite though!

My boys loved doing this Lego investigation activity. I would love more if and when you make them.
