Set up a spring LEGO building station with these fun printable pattern cards! The kids and I had so much fun putting together 8 different spring-themed mosaics for kids to build with basic LEGO bricks.

We have several sets of these cards available on this site, like our Animal Building Cards and Superhero Building Cards. We originally designed them for use with LEGO bricks, but several readers have commented that they work well as Perler bead patterns too. Such a fun idea!

Spring is such a great time of year! I am always so excited for warmer weather and green leaves on the trees after the cold, dreary winter.

Our spring LEGO building cards include a turtle, chick, robin, bunny, rainbow, Easter egg, butterfly, and flower garden.

Use these LEGO building cards to make a building station for a classroom or library! Or just print them for a fun activity to do at home.

Supplies Needed:

We built the butterfly and flower garden on 32 x 32 baseplates. The rest are on 16 x 16 plates. I really like the size of the 16 x 16 plates, and they don’t require as many bricks. But I wanted to use the larger baseplates for more complex designs. So there’s some of both!

Here are some links if you’d like to order from Brick Link or Lego.com:

Beyond that, you just need plenty of basic bricks in a variety of colors. If kids don’t have the exact colors pictured (or enough of the color pictured) they can make substitutions with what they have.

As always, I will share photos of all the spring LEGO mosaic patterns here, and then you can also print them from the link at the bottom of the post. Kids can work from these photos on an iPad or tablet, or you can print the cards.

BUNNY

We used a 2 x 2 round brick for the bunny’s fluffy tail. Use light gray antennas to make whiskers!

This bunny would also look great with tan or brown bricks.

EASTER EGG

The Easter egg is a great design to start with for young kids. Give the egg stripes or patterns in any color. It would be fun to try building an egg with dots! Just use 1 x 1 bricks for the dots and fill in the rest of the egg shape with a solid color.

CHICK

Build a cute little chick coming out of an egg. This is one of my favorites. My 12 year old son designed this chick mosaic. The beak has two 1 x 1 orange slopes (30 degree) on top of a 1 x 2 orange brick.

TURTLE
This cute little turtle can be built in any color! Make the ground tan, brown, or green.

BUTTERFLY

I built the butterfly on a 32 x 32 plate because I wanted more space to work with. Kids can fill in the wings with whatever colors they want, and it’s easy to modify the design.

RAINBOW

This cheerful rainbow looks great displayed on a desk or shelf. Use traditional rainbow colors, or use any colors. I couldn’t fit in purple… it would be fun to try a larger rainbow on a 32 x 32 baseplate!

FLOWER GARDEN

Build your own flower garden with flowers of all shapes and sizes!

Some of the sunflower petals are attached to the baseplate. The slanted ones are attached to a 1 x 1 round plate. That allowed me to turn them to the right angle. It’s not a super secure attachment, so the petals may fall off if kids carry the project around.

ROBIN

Another one of my favorites! My 15 year old old son (an avid bird watcher!) designed this one. Kids can easily make it a different type of bird by changing out the colors.
