2012 was a really big year for our family! We welcomed a new baby on January 3rd. It’s been incredible to watch Jonathan grow from a newborn baby to crawling to first steps all in one calendar year. We also sold our house in the spring and moved to a wonderful (and much larger) house in June.
Last year, we didn’t do much of anything to celebrate the New Year (I was, after all, about to have a new baby!). In 2010, we did a really fun year end scrapbook page with leftover photos from the year. This year, I haven’t gotten any photos developed, so there were no leftovers to work with! I decided that it would be fun to remember 2012 month by month. (Plus, the finished product will help the younger boys learn the months of the year and what seasons they belong in!)
I cut a poster board in half and taped the pieces together to create a long banner. Then I called the family together to remember the year. We had fun thinking through each month and writing down all of the memorable things that happened this year.
Sometimes the days seem long with little children in the house, but it’s amazing to look back at the year and see all that has happened! God has been so gracious to our family! Gresham learned how to read, swing himself on a swing, and make his own peanut butter and jelly sandwich this year. He also lost his first tooth. Owen probably changed the most this year simply because of his age. In February, we went to the Legoland Discovery Center for the first time. I was remembering what Owen was like on that outing (he was 2 1/2) and realizing how much he has matured since then!
