Seven LEGO® Building Ideas for Spring
We woke up to about 3 inches of snow, which is super weird for Texas in MARCH! So let’s think warmer weather with some spring LEGO® projects to build! Here are five ideas to inspire the little builders in your house. (Boys and girls both! We don’t intend for any of our ideas to be for *only* boys, just boy-approved!)
Maybe your kids can display their spring LEGO® creations as a centerpiece or put them on the mantle!
Project #1: Duckling
Step 1: Start with a round piece like this. If you don’t have a round one, use a square.
Step 2: Add two layers of yellow bricks.
Step 3: Add a flat 2 x 4 brick and arms.
Step 4:
Step 5: I have no idea where these orange bricks came from! If you don’t have pieces like these, try a different shape.
Step 6: Add the tail, feet, and eyes.
All done!
Project #2: Easter Basket
We used round green bricks for Easter grass inside the basket and 2 x 1 bricks for the eggs.
Project #3: Chocolate Bunny
Project #4: Easter Bunny Minions
We have a separate post with step-by-step building instructions for the minions here: Lego minions. Aidan turned this minion into an Easter bunny, and it is cracking me up!
Here’s how he did the ears:
One more close-up of the ears:
Project #5: Birds and Bird Feeder
Here’s a close up of the feeder and the birds.
Project #6: Cardinal
Okay, cardinals make me think of winter more than spring, but my 8 year old created this after studying pictures in our bird field guide, and I had to include it!
Here’s a photo with the wings off so you can see how he built it:
Project #7: Monarch Butterfly Life Cycle
You can find instructions for this project here: LEGO Monarch Butterfly Life Cycle
Have fun building! If your kids create any of these projects, we would love for you to share photos of their creations on the Frugal Fun for Boys Facebook page!

These are great! My boys love Legos! They build them according to package instructions and then don't do anything different with them. These will give them some other ideas. Thanks!
