Got Star Wars mini figures? Here’s a simple speeder to build for them!
Sometime in the past few months we found black rocket thruster bricks at the pick-a-brick wall at the LEGO® store. The boys LOADED UP, and those bricks have seen a lot of use! Aidan designed these little speeders with them and built one for each of his brothers.
Each one is slightly different.
These speeders are really simple to make. Here are the parts Aidan used. (If you don’t have the rocket thruster pieces, hopefully you can substitute similar.)
The clear circle 2 x 2 bricks are used to hold up the speeder and balance it, but since they are clear the speeders sort of appear to be hovering.
The base is a 2 x 12 flat brick. Also note that the gray 2 x 1 brick next to the flat axle piece has a hole through the center of it.
Stick a black axle rod brick into the brick with the hole.
Aidan used the pieces below to build the handle bars. Attach them to the axles that stick out on each side of the speeder.
Here is the finished speeder:
The speeder above (the one with the minifigure wearing the brown helmet) has a different black cylinder brick on the front. We have no idea where that brick came from, but somehow we have several!
The brick on the back of the speeder is perfect for holding the driver’s blaster gun. 🙂
Have fun building!
