Here’s a fun cardboard box toy to make – a Hot Wheels parking garage with ramps!
The great part about cardboard box projects is that the materials are free, and you can toss it in the recycling bin when the kids are done with it. 🙂 (We do NOT save all the projects we make!)
Daddy turned some cardboard boxes from Christmas into this fun garage with ramps. He used construction paper to decorate it, but covered it in a layer of clear packing tape to add durability.
The garage has a ramp from the second story to the ground level.
The car garage is made out of three boxes total, plus extra cardboard. The red ramp was a separate box. My husband cut along the edges of one side and then flattened it to make the ramp. Then he trimmed the sides down with a utility knife.
The boys like the fact that it has so many ramps – and mostly play that the cars are flying off the ramp and through the air!

This is such a great idea and I absolutely love that it's something you can make with the kids, make the most of your own recycling and have something that's a 'bit different' at the end of it. Just brilliant!.

I was looking at this with my oldest son and we were agreeing how much the toddler boy would like it. Then he aptly remarked, "but then he would just sit on and break it." Sigh, so true.

You could always tape some ramps coming off a small or medium size plastic container. My toddler will probably destroy this pretty quick too but I'm going to give it a shot. He has broken plenty of things that cost a lot more.

I have two toddlers so I know exactly what you mean....I put it up on the table so they can play with it without risk of them squishing it.....also....I just taped it together with masking tape and left it bare to cut down on the effort since I know it will eventually get broken. They still love it.
