Have you seen the new Minions movie yet? It just opened here last week, and I’m not sure if we’ll see it or not. We almost never go to movies at the theater largely because of the cost. Once it comes out on video, we can own it for half the cost of taking our large family to the theater, and there are no previews to deal with!

The boys love Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2, and if you’ve been following this blog, you know that we have already shared several minions projects. Jonathan (age 3) is also currently obsessed with the Memory Game. I found some minions stickers at Michael’s for $1.00 (!!), so I bought some and made him a minions memory game.

SO EASY.

This is what the stickers look like. I found them in a special minions craft area towards the front of our Michael’s store.

The sticker book came with two identical pages of large minions stickers, plus two pages of smaller stickers. One sticker book is all you need to make 28 different matching pairs for the memory game. (Although I did buy two books, just to have extra stickers. They are so fun!)

I cut the cards out of poster board and then stuck a sticker on each card. I also ran them through my Scotch thermal laminator to make them more durable, but that step definitely optional.

AHH! SO CUTE!

And my little memory game fan thinks they’re great!

How to Play: If you’re not familiar with the memory game, it’s really simple to play. Lay out all of your cards face down. Mix them up well, then arrange them in rows. Players take turns turning over two cards at a time. If they find a match, they keep the cards! If the cards don’t match, the player turns them back over and that ends their turn. I think that the official game rules say to take another turn if you get a match, but we always stop with just one turn – it makes it less discouraging for younger players who are playing with smarter older siblings.
