Make an adorable paper bowl sea turtle craft!

If you’re looking for a fun ocean craft, these paper bowl sea turtles are just the thing. They’re so easy to make with supplies you already have on hand, and the finished sea turtles are adorable.

This sea turtle is a fun craft for summer break, and it also goes well with an ocean unit.

Sea turtles come in a variety of colors, so kids can decorate their sea turtle however they want. Some have green shells, like the Olive ridley sea turtle or the Green sea turtle, and others are brown like the Loggerhead sea turtle.

Supplies Needed for a Paper Bowl Sea Turtle Craft:

Disposable paper bowls
Cardboard or card stock
Googly eyes
Paint – we used acrylic
Scissors
A black Sharpie – a regular Sharpie or a paint marker
Hot glue or another craft glue

I made a printable pattern for the sea turtle’s head and flippers. If you look at this pattern and think, “Hmm, this looks very homemade,” it’s because it totally. I took the patterns we used, traced them by hand, and then created a printable file for you. One day I’ll learn how to use Adobe Illustrator or something to make things look better. But today is not that day!

Step 1: Cut out the head and flippers from cardboard. You can use card stock if you prefer, but I like the cardboard for durability. Still, card stock might be better if you’re doing this with a group. Cardboard is harder for kids to cut on.
