This fun ramp will take your Hot Wheels race tracks to a whole new level – literally! The boys love building Hot Wheels tracks on the hard floor, but it’s challenging to keep a ramp from sliding across the floor. Here’s a simple solution that will get played with again and again!

The design of this Hot Wheels ramp is quite simple. We used PVC pipe to construct a frame, and then the ramp is just a well sanded 1 x 8 board with a small piece of wood glued to the back to keep the board from sliding.

We didn’t want to permanently attach the ramps to the board because we wanted the freedom to build it different ways. The tracks are attached to the wood with loops of masking tape. It won’t hold well if you try to move the ramp to another room, but it definitely works for play. If you want more stability, try using poster putty or super glue.

The boys used some wooden blocks to build a finish line. So fun! We discovered that you definitely need some track extending off the ramp and onto the floor in order for the cars to roll straight. Our cars kept going several feet off the end of the track.

Here are the dimensions for the PVC pipe stand. You’ll need 6 T connectors, 4 elbow joints, and one 10 foot piece of 3/4 inch pipe.

You can balance the ramp board on either of the horizontal PVC pipe bars. The boys prefer the steeper ramp, so they mostly leave it on that. Still fun to have options!

We bought our orange Hot Wheels track at Walmart, but you can also find it on Amazon.

Another day, we used the Hot Wheels ramp to create a jump for cars. The cars fly off the end of the track and into that white bucket. Lots of fun!

Have fun with Hot Wheels races!
