Build your own LEGO Farm Animals!

We’ve got building instructions for horses, chickens, sheep, and more. Kids will have so much fun with this, and there are so many creative things they can add. Encourage them to design a barn, a silo, a vegetable garden, or a pond. So much fun!

We actually have four horses, two bunnies, and twelve chickens at our own house! Also four dogs. My 13 year old son is very adamant that ours is a ranch, although we aren’t big enough to fit the definition of either a ranch OR a farm haha. Since our focus is horses and not on growing crops (although we do have a small and mostly unsuccessful vegetable garden), I think ranch works. Maybe it’s a hobby ranch.

Yesterday, we saw the most adorable mini pigs at the feed store. Pigs might need to be our next animal acquisition!

How to Build LEGO Chickens

Make some hens and rooster, and then create your own chicken coop! The instructions for the chickens are in a separate post which you can find here: LEGO Chickens

How to Build LEGO Chicks and Bunnies

We also have instructions for LEGO chicks (and bunnies) in our post on LEGO Spring Animals.

How to Build a LEGO Pig

We definitely have fewer pink LEGO bricks than any other color, so it took us a little while to figure out how to build a pig. But this one turned out super cute I think!

The body of the pig is super simple with four 2 x 4 bricks and a 1 x 4 brick.

Then here’s how I built the face.

The bottom of the head is two 2 x 4 plates. The nose is attached to a 1 x 2 brick with two studs on the side. Then the 1 x 1 bricks that hold the eyes are on top of a 1 x 1 plate to make them a little higher.

Here’s a link to the brick we used for the nose: 2 x 2 dark pink round tile with open stud. A 2 x 2 round plate would also work just as well.

Build a little pen for your pig! We used yellow, but tan and brown are also great colors.

How to Build a LEGO Goat:

It’s hard to build a LEGO goat! Maybe you’ll find a better design than what I came up with.

The body of my goat is a 2 x 6 tan brick. Place a 2 x 4 tan plate under the back end of the brick running perpendicular to it. This will hold the legs.

Here’s a photo with a little darker exposure that will allow you to see the goat’s horns a little better.

I inserted the horns into two 1 x 1 bricks that have studs on two adjacent sides. One stud holds the ear and the other holds the horn.

How to Build LEGO Horses:

You can build LEGO horses in all different colors!

Here are the building instructions: LEGO Horse Building Instructions

How to Build LEGO Sheep:

I have two different ways to build a LEGO sheep. One version has eyes and the other one doesn’t.

The design for this is super simple. Start with a 2 x 2 white inverted slope brick and a 2 x 4 brick. The ears are a 1 x 4 black plate.

Then here’s another way to build LEGO sheep.

These are part of my LEGO Nativity Set, and none of the people or animals in the Nativity have eyes. Just a clean simple design! Head over to that post for the building instructions.

Have fun building!
