We’ve got a new LEGO® challenge for you, and I’m SO excited about this one! These free printable LEGO World Landmark Building Cards make it so easy to set up a geography themed building challenge.

Have kids choose a landmark to build, and then look up information about it. Help them locate their landmark on a map and use the internet to learn some basic facts about it. Such a fun way to learn geography!

Well, and I should tell you that some of the cards have a few facts to get you started. I had extra room on the cards with vertical photos, so I added a few facts in the empty space.

Use these cards with LEGO® bricks, or any type of blocks or building toys.

We used LEGO®, but kids can also use these cards with wooden building blocks, K’nex, Keva planks, or whatever you have around.

LEGO World Landmark Building Cards

My kids tried out these building cards on an afternoon when I was out of the house, and I was so impressed with what they built! My 6, 8, 11, and 13 year olds all had a great time with this. Because it’s so fun for a wide range of ages, this would make a great LEGO club activity or class challenge.

There are 28 building cards to print with famous landmarks from countries all over the world.

My 13 year old built this model of Big Ben. It might be my favorite!

But then the Taj Mahal is really neat, too. My 11 year old used dinosaur eggs from one of his Jurassic World sets on the top of the building.

Write about your famous landmark!

The printable building cards come with some brick themed handwriting pages so that you can have your child write a short report about their landmark, if you want. My 8 year old built the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France and then wrote about it. I didn’t have to talk him into this – he thought it was a fun project!

Idea… I think it would be really fun to do this activity with a class and then create a MUSEUM with the finished projects.

There are blank handwriting pages (without the heading) to print as well as the one in the photo below in case your child needs a second (or third) page for their report.

We have three kids in our home who do NOT want to be left out. They are 45, 75, and 77 years old. Your LEGO cards have been a life enhancer during this pandemic. We have made 32 of these and are looking for more. And we have learned a ton from the research into their background and history. Thanks for a great idea!
