Move over, Jack O’ Lanterns. These LEGO Pumpkin People are a fun variation on a Halloween LEGO building activity!
We had so much fun building these, and they definitely make people smile with they see them.
If you don’t have enough orange bricks, you can order individual bricks online. I’ll show you how further down in this post.
Also, if you want to build LEGO Jack O’ Lanterns, we do have ideas for those as well. Or you can make some adorable LEGO Pumpkin Lanterns!

These LEGO pumpkin people make a fantastic building challenge because there are so many ways to build one! Give them teeth or no teeth, an open mouth, big eyes or little eyes…

These LEGO pumpkin people are fun to build at home, and they would also make an excellent activity for a LEGO club, class or Halloween party.
LEGO Pumpkin People Building Instructions:
Let’s get started with some basic instructions! Once you have the idea you can customize these however you want.
Throughout the instructions, I’ll link to some of the important elements on BrickLink so that you can order individual bricks if you want to.
If you are new to BrickLink, here’s an article that explains how BrickLink works and how to order.
Step 1: Grab a 1 x 6 orange brick, a 2 x 2 orange brick, and two 2 x 2 inverted slope bricks.

Step 2: Place the 1 x 6 brick on top of the others so that they are connected.

Step 3: Add a 1 x 1 brick on each side. Then add two 1 x 1 slopes (30-degree).

Step 4: Add a 2 x 4 orange brick and a 2 x 2 orange brick. If you have a 2 x 6, that would be even better!

Step 5: Add two 1 x 1 bricks with a stud on the side. Then fill in the rest of this layer with bricks. I used a 1 x 4, two 1 x 2’s, and two 1 x 1’s.
We don’t seem to have any 1 x 1 bricks with a stud on the side in the orange color, so I just used what we had. I figure if we don’t own any (and we have millions of bricks!) then probably other people don’t either. Here’s the orange color on Brick Link if you want to order.

Step 6: Place two 2 x 3 orange slope bricks on the top of the pumpkin. I added a 1 x 1 brown round plate and a plant plate leaf to finish him up!
Grab two 2 x 2 white round plates and two 1 x 1 black round plates to make the eyes.

Step 7: Attach the eyes to the bricks that have studs on the sides!
Then add some teeth. For the fang teeth below, I used this 1 x 1 plate with a vertical tooth.

But, you can create a totally different look by using 1 x 1 round plates instead. It’s fun to explore different options!

Then here’s a pumpkin with a different expression altogether. For this one, I used 1 x 1 round bricks for the teeth.

The eyes are 2 x 2 round tiles with a stud and they are attached to 1 x 2 bricks with two studs on the side.

Here are two more pumpkin people to try building! These two are a bit smaller, and I used 1 x 1 tile eyes.

Have fun building!
