Here’s a collection of the best Christmas ornaments for kids to make! Kids will enjoy creating these ornaments, and then displaying them on the tree for years to come.

We are not one of those families that has a matchy Christmas tree. Ours does not have a theme with beautiful ornaments that all coordinate with each other. Instead, we have a random hodge-podge of ornaments that we have collected over the years, including ones that the kids have picked out and ones they have made. Personally, I love it that way! It feels like a tree full of memories!

Christmas Ornaments for Kids to Make

Each year, our kids get to pick out one new ornament to purchase. When Aidan was studying Egypt in second grade, he found a mummy ornament! Last year, Jonathan picked out a cowboy boot. We’ve got it all on that tree, from birds and dogs to Sesame Street characters and Thomas the Tank Engine.

When we make our own ornaments, we like to stick with simple craft supplies and classic holiday designs. I think you’ll find all of these ornaments to be festive, and do-able!

Just a note to first say thank you for having a site that keeps Christ in Christmas. Second, as a single father & grandfather, that raised my daughter and now am helping raise my grandson, thank you for having some great ideas for my grandson & I to work on together. May God bless you and your family.
